Eizo Nishida Tribute Fund
EIZO NISHIDA, beloved husband of Teruko of Lethbridge, AB, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, February 15, 2009 at the age of 65 years.
He is the loving father of: Tina Nishida of Fort Macleod, AB; Jim Nishida (Miki) of Calgary, AB; and two grandsons: Jesse and Clayton Fair of Lethbridge.
He is also survived by his siblings: Nancy (Kaz) Nakamura, Thelma (George) Saito, Eiko (Ichiro) Yakushi, Eikichi (Kuniko) Nishida; and many nieces and nephews.
Eizo was predeceased by his father Einosuke Nishida and his mother Miki Nishida.
He was born in Slocan, BC on June 13, 1943. In 1946 he and his family were evacuated to Japan. Eizo was raised and educated in Kagoshima, Japan, then in 1963 he moved to Lethbridge. A year later he moved to Taber to work on the Miyanaga farm for 10 years, then at Maple Leaf Foods for 31 years until his retirement in 2005. Eizo and Teruko were married in 1971 in Lethbridge where they raised their two children, Tina and Jim.
Eizo worked hard all his life and cared for his friends and family with much respect. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, and most of all entertaining his many friends and family.
It was Eizo’s wish that no funeral service be held and in lieu of flowers and koden, donations may be made to the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation, Radiation Fund, 960-19 Street South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 1W5.
The family requests that all those wishing to remember Eizo attend a viewing and gathering on Saturday, February 21, 2009 from noon to 2:00 p.m. at GENERATIONS FUNERAL HOME, 703-13 Street North, Lethbridge.
