Harry Quon Tribute Fund

Harry Quon passed away peacefully at age 93 on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 in Lethbridge, Alberta surrounded by loving family members.
Harry was born in Kaiping, China and married Lynne Seto in 1944. He immigrated to Canada with his brother Wayne in December 1951. They and their father Ben operated the Royal Café, Stirling Pool Hall, and Canadian Grocery in Stirling, Alberta. Lynne immigrated to Canada in 1958. After 35 years in Stirling, they retired and moved to Lethbridge in 1987. Sadly, Lynne passed away later that year. Since retiring, Harry devoted his time to the Chinese community and was involved with many associations. Harry was very hard working; loved family reunions; enjoyed karaoke; and was an avid sports fan, cheering his beloved Calgary Flames and Toronto Raptors.
Harry will be dearly missed by his four children, Maelin (William Kwok), George (Sharon), Dick (Mary), and Ken (Pandora), thirteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Wayne (Helen) and their children, Jack (Armelyn), and Suzanne (Don Papp), and five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his niece Linda (Richard Loo).
Special thanks to Drs. Malpica, Latchmea, and Leam, and the caregivers at the Chinook Regional Hospital Unit 4B and Edith Cavell Care Center.
A Visitation will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Monday, October 28, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
A Funeral Service will follow at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation (, or to the Alberta Cancer Foundation (
