Joseph Roberts Tribute Fund

MR. JOSEPH BRUCE (CLARK) ROBERTS, beloved husband of Phyllis Roberts of Lethbridge, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at the age of 67 years. He is survived by four children, Terry Sherman (Darcy) and their son Levi of Lethbridge, Clark Roberts (Rosalind) and their daughter Tianna of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Traci Lengyel (Richard) and their children Richard and Kendyl of Lethbridge and Troy Roberts of Calgary; two sisters, Marjorie Hales (Bob) of Burnaby, BC and Bev Ursan of Surrey, BC; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Joseph Roberts, mother, Winnifred Severinson, father-in-law John Paul Heinzlmeir, mother-in-law Lucille Heinzlmeir, sisters-in-law Arlene Heinzlmeir, Pat Forsythe and Doreen Wallace; a nephew Kelly Pugh; aunt and uncle Bill and Eva Borgen; aunt, Stella Johnson and uncle Ron Hodgson. Clark was born in Drumheller, Alberta on July 7th, 1942. He loved to do Track and Field and was a high school provincial champion. He excelled in athletics, ice hockey, basketball (U of C), bowling and snowmobiling. He was a member of the Coaldale Sugardaddies hockey team and the Lethbridge Old Stars and Bandits slow-pitch teams. He also loved to go horseback riding, camping and anything to do with the outdoors. After high school he married his childhood sweetheart on October 20th, 1962. Together they had four children and four grandchildren. He worked for the Provincial Government for 35 years and earned his 1st class Power Engineer certificate at a young age. He retired from the government at age 55 and then worked at the Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge for approximately 5 years before beginning his courageous battle with Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia which resulted in his retiring again. His biggest enjoyment was spending time with his family and grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined.
