Oliver W. Hagen Tribute Fund
HAGEN MR. OLIVER W. HAGEN of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Edna Hagen, passed away at Rosewood Villa on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at the age of 91 years. Oliver is survived by his only son Garry (Alberta) Hagen of Okotoks, Alberta, one granddaughter Geryl-Lynn (Andrew) Broer of Calgary, his sister Helen Fisher of Nanaimo, BC, sister-in-law Ileen Hagen of Calgary, plus several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Edna of 47 years, his parents Theodore and Lena Hagen, his brothers; Norman and Palmer, his sisters; Edna Minton and Alice Patenode, and his only grandson Brad Aaron Hagen. Oliver was born in Donalda, Alberta. He was raised and educated on the family farm. As a young man Oliver drove truck, hauling grain. During war time, Oliver worked for the old Canadian Freightways, hauling the American Army to Alaska. In 1946, Oliver started driving bus to Foremost until 1947. The following year he began trucking. He drove truck for 31 years, retiring in 1979 from the CPR. Oliver was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Miners Library, Lethbridge Elks Club, and the LSCO. The family would like to acknowledge their appreciation to Lorraine and the staff at Rosewood Villa for all their caring and compassion shown to Oliver. They gave Oliver a special place to call “Home”. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation, 960-19th St. S., Lethbridge, AB, T1J 1W5 or to Rosewood Villa, 120 Garrison Drive, Fort Macleod, AB T0L 0Z0. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, June 7, 2010 at MARTIN BROS. RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 4th Street South, Lethbridge. Interment at Archmount Cemetery, Lethbridge, Alberta.
