Festive Fundraiser Shimmers with Success: Christmas Tree Festival raised more than $160,000 for community healthcare.

November 23, 2023

LETHBRIDGE, AB — The generosity of the holiday spirit was alive and well at Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation’s 29th annual Christmas Tree Festival, presented by Stringam LLP.

Running from Nov. 19-22, this fabulous event kicked off the holiday season for Lethbridge and the surrounding area. The ENMAX Centre was transformed into a whimsical winter wonderland, hosting public viewing days and a Gala & Auction — all in the spirit of improving community healthcare.

This year, the Christmas Tree Festival raised more than $160,000, all of which will stay here, in Lethbridge, to enhance equipment and care at the Chinook Regional Hospital.

“What an amazing event, thanks to the support and community spirit of Southern Alberta residents!” commented Shonna Lamb, Development Officer. “The funds raised at this event will go a long way toward purchasing vital equipment and enhancing patients and staff care at our community hospital. This includes our major projects that fall outside of government funding. Thank you so much for your contributions.”

The four-day festival wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our sponsors and the tireless work of our incredible volunteers. These organizations and individuals helped us hand-decorate the beautiful trees, create the shimmering, magical atmosphere, and host our Gala & Auction.

More than 4,000 people attend the Christmas Tree Festival each year, taking in our public viewing days, our family night, and our Gala & Auction.

Stay tuned for next year!

Giving Tuesday 2024

This year on Giving Tuesday we wanted to spotlight one of our donors, Rhonda Fletcher

Longtime supporters of the CRH Foundation, we spoke to Rhonda about her family's first-hand experience and the importance of giving back.

"We've had family members and many friends who have needed the support of the CRH for physical and mental health and if it wasn't for the foundation and the hospital, they wouldn't be here today."

As an Analyst for AHS, Rhonda has worked in the healthcare world for many years and is an incredible advocate for mental health and patient care which is why each year the A & M Fletcher Family Fund donates to support the in-patient psychiatry unit at Chinook Regional Hospital, including funding renovations, equipment, as well as patient needs.
