Hi, I'm Cara! I planned on being in Lethbridge for one year but have loved it so much I’ve stayed for nine years!
I love our beautiful coulees and the small town feel. I also don’t have any desire to sit in big city traffic every day so the 10 minute commute is perfect.

Why do you think listeners should support Care From the Heart Day?
"Having the equipment and staff needed so we can keep families and support systems nearby is one of many reasons I support the Care From the Heart Day and encourage others to do so. My husband had an emergency this past year and I don't want to imagine what would've happened had the care from CRH not been readily available or if we had to travel further away."

Why do you love radio?
"It's the ultimate connector via stories, events, anecdotes, and perspectives from people in our community.
Also, like many of my radio colleagues, I was told I was a socialbutterfly as a kid (which was a nice way of saying I talked too much lol) so I had to find a way to make a living out of that. Also – music!"

What would be your ideal Valentine's day? Song/Movie?

"A spa day together. Massages. Relaxing in saunas. No pedicures though, those hurt and I don't find them relaxing lol."

Hey! I’m Kierstyn, I moved back to Alberta and made Lethbridge home! I grew up in the Calgary area,
so it’s been a dream being closer to my family, friends and familiar places.

During the day, you can catch me on Breakfast with Kierstyn & Cole on KiSS 107.7.

In the evenings, I’m sipping iced coffee, hanging out with my bunny, Lola, or seeing what fun adventures I can get myself into. You can usually find me going for walks in the coulees, finding a place to grab some food,
or at a concert!

Why do you think listeners should support Care From the Heart Day?
"It's such an important day to support our community and the people in it. Having access to resources at the hospital is life saving for so many. Donations help a ton with making sure the hospital has everything they need to change lives for the better."

Why do you love radio?
"I grew up around radio! It was on 24/7 in the car, in the house, everywhere I went.I remember my favourite game to play at 4-years-old was radio. I would sit around my parent’s CD player, listen and talk a little between songs. I always wanted to be that voice in the radio, so I made it happened! Every day is full of fun and laughter. I truly wouldn't have it any other way! I love how much radio connects people, brings together a community, and shines light into everyday life. If I can make someone smile, then I know I did my job right!?"

What would be your ideal Valentine's day? Song/Movie?
"My v-day has been the same for the past 5 years, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! A cozy night in with a ton of take-out sushi. The amount where they send about 3 handfuls of soya sauce packets… and at least 5 pairs of chopsticks… for 2 people.."

Hey, I'm Cole! I have been in radio for 8 years, but I have been running my mouth for my whole life.
That mouth running got me to Lethbridge where, believe it or not, I enjoy waking up at 3:30am because I get to run my mouth with the people of Lethbridge. And sometimes I get to use that for good. I grew up on the west coast and am working hard to learn how to back flip in 2025.

Why do you think listeners should support Care From the Heart Day?

"Care from the Heart day is so important because having care for everyone here in Lethbridge saves so many the hassle and headache of having to leave town for treatment or care. And you never know when you may need that care yourself. It’s much better to have it and not need it than to need it but not have it."

Why do you love radio?
"I love radio because no day is the same. One day you’re doing a Care from the Heart radio-thon helping the community in a big and meaningful way, and other days you could be telling silly stories that happened over the weekend or doing ice cream tours of town. I get to have fun at work, and if I do it right, I get to help everyone else have a slightly better day!"

What would be your ideal Valentine's day? Song/Movie?
"One year I tried to be romantic and made my then-girlfriend (now wife) a pink pasta sauce. What I ended up making can best be described as Cheesy Pepto Pasta. So I don’t know what my ideal valentines day is… but it’s not that."

Why do you think listeners should support
 Care From the Heart Day?
"Because hospitals are cool and vital. 8 years ago I was in a medically induced coma for two weeks because of a freak respiratory illness. I'm forever indebted to the medical folk who kept me alive, and I'll always be jazzed to support them when I can. "

Why do you love radio?
"I love radio because it's just such a goofy and unique thing that I can do even though I have zero actual talent. But in reality, I love how close I get to be with the music and the listeners. It's such a fun relationship that I’m honored to be a part of. "

What would be your ideal Valentine's day? Song/Movie?
"Ideal valentine's day would be watching Star Wars Episode II Attack of the Clones, followed closely by
Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith. Ideal V-day song is "Cbat - Hudson Mohawk."

Cassie has been working in radio for over 15 years—13 of those in Alberta with Poncho.
She grew up in small-town Saskatchewan. She loves all things entertainment---movies, tv & music.
She’s also a “Type-One Mom” to her son Connor who was diagnosed with Type One Diabetes at the age of 5.
She knows first-hand how important it is to support the Care from the Heart Radiothon.

Why do you think listeners should support Care From the Heart Day?
"I think that now, more than ever, it is important to support the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation. You never know when you will need to access resources at the hospital. With your donation you help to ensure that the hospital has the most up to date equipment, resources and programs."

Why do you love radio?
"My favourite part about radio is the connections we make with our listeners. Whether it is a text message or phone call there is nothing better than taking a stroll down memory lane with fellow Albertans. I love being able to make someone’s day by saying their name on the air, or sharing their story from social media.
Plus, we get to have fun and talk about current events and music---two of my favourite things. I feel privileged to be part of your commute to work!"

What would be your ideal Valentine's day? Song/Movie?
"My ideal Valentine’s Day revolves around food and comfort. There’s nothing better than enjoying some local takeout and curling up on the couch to watch a movie. And you can’t forget the cheesecake. I’m obsessed with cheesecake and I think it’s the perfect Valentine’s Day dessert!"

Why do you think listeners should support Care From the Heart Day?
"In addition to ensuring that our city has the means necessary to continue to look after the health of the ones we love, there’s some other powerful reasons to give back. Supporting Care From The Heart Day can inspire others to give, it teaches the importance of generosity, strengthens the ties of our community and makes us feel good!"

Why do you love radio?
"In one word, radio is FUN. With the exception of a few, most of us will have to work at sometime in our lives so why not ‘work’ at something you’re passionate about. When you can do that, work is no longer work and that’s when it becomes fun."

What would be your ideal Valentine's day? Song/Movie?
"Who says you need somebody in your life to celebrate Valentine’s Day. A thermos of homemade chili and some snowshoes to spend the day outside sounds like a pretty solid way to enjoy February 14
th."

Why do you think listeners should support Care From the Heart Day?
"I think the most important thing to think of when supporting Care from the Heart Day is knowing that you are investing in a not just better patient care experience, great minds who do great things, but also cutting edge technology that mostly likely will end up saving someone you love or even your own life one day!"

Why do you love radio?
"The thing I love most about being in radio is getting to chat and connect with our listeners every day! Whether it's through our socials, our text line or a call to tell me how the day is going, I love to share a good laugh, great stories and have some fun during the work day."

What would be your ideal Valentine's day? Song/Movie?
"I have to say, Valentines Day is not my favorite Day, I'm just not the romantic type nor a consumerist so I just see it as any other day to spread kindness. Donating to a local charity like the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation would be my ideal way to spend Valentine's Day!"

"The Valentine's Day movie of choice will always and forever be 50 First Dates with Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler. My music choice would be anything by The Police or my songstress hero, Celine Dion. She is exceptional. I just love her."

Why do you think listeners should support Care From the Heart Day?
"I believe the main reason should be to simply support the community. And support the people within it. Southern Alberta has a strong will to help each other out, and this event proves it every year. Funds raised stay here. It's local. Right now, more than ever, is the best time to support local. Plus, you never know when you might need medical services... So wouldn’t you want to make sure the most updated and cutting-edge technology is available to you and your family and community?"

Why do you love radio?
"I've made friends, I've met people I looked up to, I've learned about myself. There's so many reasons to love radio. And I'm happy to be a part of it and genuinely feel like I make some sort of difference in people's day-to-day lives. I love to entertain and laugh. As an Albertan, it's also nice to not work outside some days."

What would be your ideal Valentine's day? Song/Movie?

Why do you love radio?

What would be your ideal Valentine's day? Song/Movie?
"A quiet night at home making dinner for my wife and then relaxing while watching a movie or tv show! So many good love songs out there, it’s hard to pick just one, but I’ll go with one that makes me think of my wife, Love Your Love the Most by Eric Church, it was our first dance song at our wedding! Movie wise, it may be on Netflix over Christmas, but I think Holidate is really adorable with Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey!"

Why do you think listeners should support Care From the Heart Day?
"Personally, I have a warm spot for the kids, especially ones who need to spend some time in the NICU.  Both of my boys arrived early and needed to spend a few weeks in NICU... and I can't imagine not having all the tools and specialized equipment necessary for all the little ones who need that kind of care."

Why do you love radio?
"I love radio because out of all the forms of media, none other can do the things that radio can!  We tell stories, spread cheer, sometimes make you cry, and when needed... rally the community!"

What would be your ideal Valentine's day? Song/Movie?
"Dinner, dancing, and maybe a concert or a community theatre show! I still think Titanic is one of the all-time great love stories (sorry Jack!).  And best Valentines Day song... it’s difficult but I will always love 'Unanswered Prayers' by Garth Brooks!"
