Care from the Heart Radio-a-thon raises over $305,000!

February 11, 2022

(Lethbridge, AB – February 11th, 2022) The Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation held their Annual ‘Care from the Heart Day’ Radio-a-thon on Thursday, February 10th, and is thrilled to announce that over $305,000 has been raised thus far – surpassing their goal of $275,000.

Allan Bartolcic, Executive Director, states, “The community continues to come together as we are extremely thankful for everyone’s contribution; the success is all because of you.”

During the Radio-a-thon, six local radio stations, KiSS 107.7, 106.7 Rock, Country 95.5, B-93.3, 94.1 CJOC FM, and 2Day FM 98.1, broadcasted live from their respective stations, sharing stories, speaking with members of the hospital and encouraging listeners to donate.

Once again, the Chinook Regional Hospital Foundation was delighted to have Bob Balog, Honorary Chair, at the helm of the ‘Care from the Heart Day’ Radio-a-thon for the 11th year running. “Thank you again for the overwhelming support; the ongoing generosity of our community humbles me.” The COVID-19 response at Chinook Regional Hospital (CRH) has been more than just ordinary. It has been extraordinary coordination of teams, departments and programs that have never been seen before, and hopefully, never seen again. The donors to the CRH Foundation have played an essential role in the hospital’s response to COVID-19. On February 10th, everyone celebrated and shared their stories with the community at the 12th annual Radio-a-thon!

These incredible donations will expand the areas of care the Chinook Regional Hospital can provide, and bring new equipment, technologies, and expertise to Lethbridge. Our donors are keeping world-class healthcare closer to home. A truly incredible gift to your friends, family, and neighbours!

Giving Tuesday 2024

This year on Giving Tuesday we wanted to spotlight one of our donors, Rhonda Fletcher

Longtime supporters of the CRH Foundation, we spoke to Rhonda about her family's first-hand experience and the importance of giving back.

"We've had family members and many friends who have needed the support of the CRH for physical and mental health and if it wasn't for the foundation and the hospital, they wouldn't be here today."

As an Analyst for AHS, Rhonda has worked in the healthcare world for many years and is an incredible advocate for mental health and patient care which is why each year the A & M Fletcher Family Fund donates to support the in-patient psychiatry unit at Chinook Regional Hospital, including funding renovations, equipment, as well as patient needs.
